Secondary colors Print E-mail
Secondary colors are green, orange, and violet and are created by mixing two primary colors in equal proportions. To create true secondary using pigment primaries tend to contain traces of other colors. That means cadmium yellow pale which contains a trace of red can be used to mix orange, but tends to make greens dull. Lemon yellow helps to make green bright. Cobalt blue has some yellow in it and dull the blue and red mixture, which makes violet. I would use alizarin crimson and ultramarine to achieve my effect of violet.
